The ambient vocal sounds in the background of this video's music were recorded by Andrew Mcniven at the Tate Gallery in London. This photo series is loosely based on the legend of the Valkyries, but it is inspired by the iconography and energy of the all of the dark goddesses. Lilith, Inanna, Pele, Medusa, Kali, Sekhmet, Hecate and all of the goddess archetypes that move in and through the shadows. This is a "fan video" tribute to Diamanda Galas' Defixiones, a composition dealing with the continued denial of the genocidal atrocities against Armenians and Greeks. Defixiones is meant to stand as a reminder and a curse against the perpetrators of genocide and those who dig up the graves of the dead. Though ignorance appears to be bliss, ignoring the history of genocide around the world condemns us to repetition, and to the hexes of those who cannot truly rest in peace.

On November 11th, 2009 Rhode Island governor, bigot, homophobe, and douchebag Donald Carcieri vetoed a bill granting same-sex couples the right to make funeral arrangements for their partners.The bill was prompted by the case of Mark Goldberg, who was unable to claim the body of his partner, Ronald Hanby, until more than a month after his death.
