Resurrecting Ophelia

Resurrecting Ophelia

Selected images from my "Resurrecting Ophelia" series set to a favorite poem by Henri Michaux. The ambient vocal sounds in the background of this video's music were recorded by Andrew Mcniven at the Tate Gallery in London. The recording was made of people talking in front of John Everett Millais's painting 'Ophelia' and is courtesy the Freesound Project. Valkyrie:The Corpse Goddess

Valkyrie:The Corpse Goddess

This photo series is loosely based on the legend of the Valkyries, but it is inspired by the iconography and energy of the all of the dark goddesses. Lilith, Inanna, Pele, Medusa, Kali, Sekhmet, Hecate and all of the goddess archetypes that move in and through the shadows. I am especially interested in the dark goddesses and their relationship to shapeshifting and ravens. This series captures a woman in the act of shapeshifting. I wanted to portray the goddess as she was portrayed in ancient ...

Diamanda Galas Orders From The Dead: Hellenic Genocide

Diamanda Galas Orders From The Dead: Hellenic Genocide

This is a "fan video" tribute to Diamanda Galas' Defixiones, a composition dealing with the continued denial of the genocidal atrocities against Armenians and Greeks. Defixiones is meant to stand as a reminder and a curse against the perpetrators of genocide and those who dig up the graves of the dead. Though ignorance appears to be bliss, ignoring the history of genocide around the world condemns us to repetition, and to the hexes of those who cannot truly rest in peace.

Diamanda Galas Plague Mass Fan Video (Blessed Bigot)

This is a fan-created video tribute to Diamanda Galas' vital and powerful PLAGUE MASS. The composition used is "How Shall Our Judgement Be Carried Out Upon the Wicked." I have chosen Pope Benedict XVI as a symbol for the type of consciousness that perpetuates religious bigotry, hatred, and genocide around the world. A consciousness that has run for centuries on the blood of the ignorant, the apathetic and the silent. This is also a metaphorical hex on those from all religious and cultural ...
