The Landing at Williamsburg was transformed into German Beer hall for Oktoberfest. Residents dined on traditional German foods including pretzels, bratwurst and sauerkraut. They also danced to polka music. Even staff got in on the fun, wearing traditional green Tyrolean hats and lederhosen.

The popular Nintendo gaming system allows players to sit or stand in front of the TV and use the remote to simulate the classic bowling approach to knock all the pins down and even put a backspin on the ball. Many residents look forward to the virtual bowling league because it's a chance to gather with friends, get some exercise and --most importantly-- have fun.

That's why once a month, a group of volunteers from the communities of Pacific Springs Village and Trinity Village & Courtyard load the bus and head down to the Open Door Mission. For a couple hours, these men and women wrap silverware, sort clothing and make PB&J sandwiches.
