Yes the UK did have a space program it was shelved in 1972. Here are some of the missiles and some rockets such as Black Arrow which launched the uk's first satellite and Europa. The UK devised Blue Streak as a missile defence system, but it was never suitable, taking 30 minutes to prepare for launch, and inbound strike to the UK could take as little time as 4 minutes! All rockets were launched from Australia as the UK was too small to accomodate rockets going astry

This is a video of my 1st cat Thomas, he was a fixture in my bedroom when I was a teenager, sprawled along my bed while I listened to music, did my homework and generally got up to mischief. He died on 28th September 2005 aged 11 due to liver failure. He outlived his brother and sister, I miss him he was and still is part of our family and his absence has been felt ever since.
