Helicopter Medical Close Call Brush Fire Accident
Danker says the accident happened when the Life Net helicopter was taking off to transport the man to Creighton University Hospital in Omaha. Danker says the chopper's tail rotor clipped a power line owned by Mid-American Energy. That caused a loud pop and a blue flame, and sparks from the power line caused a small brush fire.

Syracuse NY Firefighter Rescue Close Call
The firefighter was taken to University Hospital to receive treatment for smoke inhalation and a cut to his face, said Lt. Ken Heffernan, a fire investigator with the Syracuse Fire Department. Heffernan would not release the firefighter's name. The firefighter became trapped upstairs at the two-family home at 3009 S. Salina St., he said. "He may have run out of air," Heffernan said.
