Project "Doomrider" (DBZ AMV; Master Encode)

Project

What if there was a nine-minute dragonball Z music video? What if some of your favorite AMV editors (and site owners!) participated? What if... it didn't suck? Such was the idea behind "Doomrider"; it's a multi-editor, collaborative anime music video project with the goal of covering the entire DBZ series (beginning to end!) in a single music video, spread across individual editors. Seventeen tracks, twelve editors, a nine-minute song, and 291 episodes worth of material. This project was ...

"Ultimate Uncut Edition" FUNimation DBZ Trailer (2005)

In 2005, funimation returned to re-dub and re-release the first two "seasons" of the DBZ TV series after its home distribution rights reverted from Pioneer (later Geneon). funimation called these uncut, bilingual DVD release the "Ultimate Uncut Editions". Amusingly, with the exception of the series' name, any and all Japanese text in the trailer is nonsensical, done via a "fake" Japanese font that randomly equates a katakana character to an English letter. For example, "The Way It Was Meant ...

"Think You Know GT?" FUNimation Trailer (2003)

To promote their upcoming release of the "dragonball GT" TV series, in 2003 funimation created this trailer. It was one of the first times where they actually acknowledged its original Japanese origins in some fashion. This "image" for the series was abandoned in 2008 with the release of their "remastered" season sets for the series, which included newly-dubbed versions of the original Japanese theme songs.

Who Knows GT...? (FUNimation Comparison)

Back in 2003, funimation released a (now infamous) commercial/trailer for their upcoming release of "dragonball GT". It featured the new rap theme song created for their English dub, and also pokes fun at the original Japanese version. Fast forward five years later, and suddenly funimation changed their tune. Literally.

Dead In Two Episodes

Dead In Two Episodes

This is a short little trailer I made on a whim as a tribute to my favorite bottom-of-the-barrel henchman in the entire series, Appule. This is nearly every single last scene of him that exists, minus a couple redundant shots. The title kinda gives it away, but it's still somewhat cute. Made in about 90 minutes and submitted to the Anime Weekend Atlanta (AWA) 2008 Professional Anime Music Video Contest. The song used is "Escape" by Craig Armstrong.

It is a simple "Street Fighter" tribute video featuring all sorts of different video sources. The song is "Spring Thunder" and is a megamix of the eight World Warriors' individual theme songs.

DBZ Filler Inconsistencies: Video #3

In DBZ TV episode 95, Piccolo is shot through the chest by Freeza after knocking Goku out of the way. However, in the manga, it doesn't appear that Piccolo actually pushes Goku out of the way, and rather, the blast was intended for Piccolo all along. Full discussion of this scene's ramifications in Episode #0125 of "Daizenshuu EX - The Podcast" (www.daizex.com).
