Found this on an old tape. It shows the Avro Lancaster doing a few cicuits of Warboys in 2006. This used to be an annual event but have not seen it for a couple of years. Perhaps a nimby complained!!!

SRI LANKA.....This film starts off at Amabalangoda Station where an oil train pulls in. The Colombo express arrives and I get a cab ride to Alutgama. Note on picture quality. Sorry but this DV tape does not seem to transfer well to youtube. I get better results on the PC. I shall have to invest in one of the new generation of video cameras.
Part 2 is the section from Panadura to Colombo Fort. This video is just a selection of film taken on the route. Part 1 shows the section from Alutgama to Panadura Filmed in 2006 on DV tape.
Part 1 is the section from Alutgama to Panadura on the Sri lankan Railways Costal Line. This Line follows the west coast from Galle all the way to Colombo. I got on at Alutgama. The old diesel was a bit tired but once we were rolling she got along at a fair old pace. Part 2 is from Panadura to Colombo. The journey took over an hour so this is just a small selection of the route.
As a follow on from the my video on Plateway men, heres a short video of road repairs at Alutgama in Sri Lanka. Can't see any cones here!! But unusually quite a few hard hats. Filmed in 2006.

A selection of photos taken at the Railway museum in Colombo. As with all museums the lighting was not very suitable for photography. It is rather a small place with only three locomotives. Two steam and one diesel. There are some nice old bits of railwayana and a couple of waggons. Such a shame as Sri Lanka has an abundance of old Locos rusting away in yards around the country. Still this is a start and hopefully more items will be added later as time and money permit. ... Sri Lanka Railway ...

We were on our way from Kalutara to the Hill Country with our trusty driver Haroon, when we came across what could have been a scene from a film about the infamous Burma Railway. Platewaymen from the Sri Lankan Railway, (formally the CGR), were replacing rotten and broken sleepers on a section of track on the British Built Kelani Valley Railway. This line leaves Colombo Fort and ends its journey at Avissawella. It was an amazing site to watch these hardworking men, in 90.F heat, manually ...
