The council would like to increase rates 5% every year for the next 5 years. Bloody Nora doesn't think that Fitness Groups using the council parks should have to pay. It should remain a free service to the groups as they are providing a fantastic service the those who have already paid for the parks, the rate payers. It is hypocritical to say they can keep running their sessions in the parks if they pay for licence.

The Gold Coast City Council Junkets have to stop. It is showing total disrespect to all those who pay them, especially this year, it has been a double whammy for so many. A recession, followed by huge increase in rates. No wonder our rates have gone up over 70% in the last 7 years, if this is the kind of thing we are funding. FYI, the CPI increase for the same period was 21%. Please sign the petition on the site to ban any further junkets for the next 12 months.
