29/11/09 Much better round after our not soo sucessful discovery round but managed to knock a pole as he wasnt blanaced enough round the turn. Pleased with the round though. An example of a pretty awful round! We arrived and one of his shoes was coming off so had to pull it off but thought i'd ride anyway (soft surface). Fighting me all the way round and being spooky! - leading to a refusal, (first sj refusal with him??) also not helped by the nasty dog leg upto it and lost my stirrup after the refusal but last few jumps were still best i think! Country Equestrian 1.05m Open at AMEC i originally meant to enter the 1m and disc qualifier aswell but i didnt get my entires in on time. you can see he is quite spooky when he entered the arena and he was still tensed and lacking impulsion for the first few jumps - most probably why the double came down! but other than that he was jumping out of his skin. Havent been making any videos cos i never really bother taking the camera out when i compete anymore :S CC welcome xxx
majorly upto height! he behaved really well especially as he had only been reshod the day before so i only new fo sho he was sound on weds. (his splint flared up and he went lame during camp, then he lost a shoe and that foot became heated) but he was a little star and seriously hyper! bless him on the double! - i saw the long stride for the spread but just didnt put my leg on enough and so didnt make up enough ground between the turn and jump so unfortunately he knocked it off. our practise before the area sj in 2 weeks time! 4 faults - the jump that literally everyone knocked down, i took too much of a pull in the run up to it so got a bad stride! our team still came 3rd place =) really pleased with nim, the improvement since i got him behavioural wise is unbelievable! :) CC would be gooood. xxx
