Three charters seen at York station on Saturday 5th December 2009. Starring 47786/826 on a NENTA from Skipton-Norwich, D1015 'Western Champion' on a UK Railtours charter from Scarborough and York to London Kings Cross, and 47760/804 on a Railtourer charter from Edinburgh-Stevenage.

With the 'Eurotrash' DMU off lease, the London area testing has reverted to loco-hauled and most of the Southern region diagrams will be operated using top and tail 73s. Here we see 73204 and 141 depart New Cross after reversal working 1Q66 back to Selhurst via Hastings. This train has a very long diagram sometimes with a start time of 0530 and finishing at 2200!

A real pair of beasties on this working for a change! 37194 and 510 arrive and depart Westerfield, Suffolk working 6M69, 1534 Sizewell-Willesden Brent with a single flask in tow. It was hoped to get another shot of the train departing Ipswich as it normally stops there, but today it sailed straight through and didn't get stopped again until Marks Tey loop. Typical :-(

Colas Rail's 66842 storms through Barking, East London working a late running 7Z81 Dagenham-Dollands Moor, loaded Transfesa. This is my first Class 66 on this working, all the other occasions have been with 47s but also the occasional 56. This along with 66841 were acquired from the late Advenza Freight which went into liquidation earlier this year.

37218 and 608 arrive and depart London Bridge (Southern side) working 1Q74/1Q78 test train from Selhurst T&RSMD. This train is in essence the replacement for the 'Euroscout' DMU thing which came off lease a few months ago (yay!) so we can look forward to more loco-hauled SERCO action in London in the very near future.

57302 in Virgin livery working 5O21, Bletchley-Eastleigh with 2 Class 321 emus for storage at Eastleigh, usually the barrier vehicles off this return as 5M21 back to Wembley or, in some cases, 5S57 straight back to Polmadie but this time, there was a twist. Two 321s were to be moved to Doncaster for refurbishment for further service with NXEA, so they were taken in the consist of 5M21 back to Willesden PRDC, before being taken forward to Doncaster by the same loco the following day....
