Following the battle against Braska's Final Aeon, Yu Yevon releases Jecht from his control. Tidus gets one last chance to tell his father what he has been wanting to say since childhood, after which Jecht tells Yuna to kill her own aeons.

After defeating Seymour the team continue to advance within Sin. They reach the Nucleus where Tidus is ambushed by hundreds of spikes emerging from the ground. After collecting all of the treasures in the Nucleus the team is teleported to their target, Jecht. Tidus and Jecht have a somewhat awkward conversation but its Jecht who suggests "to end it". He transforms into his aeon form and the battle begins against Braska's Final Aeon. 60000HP for the first part, 120000HP for the second part ...

The group may have the upper hand in the fight against Sin but Sin is far from defeated. After collapsing near Bevelle, Sin has recovered to an extent and returns to battle the party however this time it is drawing the airship in leaving the team no option but to battle Sin head on. So after all the travelling and learning its finally time to rid Spira of Sin but Sin is expecting Yuna and her companions and initially tries to scare them off with an energy wave, when that fails Cid picks out three areas for the team to attack.
