Dec 06-09: Church St track work is 100% complete with most of the street open to two way traffic. Only a small section of waterline work still has to be done. Once Queen St intersection is pave, rest of Church St will be open. The waterline on Queen is finish. Adelaide St was supposed to be finish my Nov 30th, but another 2 weeks by the looks of things. TTC will be able to short turn at Church St by Dec 13th if thing goes to plan.
Dec 06-09: We can see both platforms for Keele St are pour and waiting pavers and shelters. Only one set of pole going to be used here to support both tracks. That land on the north side is part of the Opps1!! west of here where the existing ROW and sidewalk have to be cut along with the Gunns Loop mess. Dec 06-09: We take a look at the new Dufferin St underpass to replace the Dufferin Jog in 2010. Waterproofing is taking place for the first section that has been built. Back fill taking place. CN has started to build the new mainline roadbed that will be place over the green bridges while rest of the underpass is built. Dec 06-09: We take a ride eastbound from Dufferin St to Oakwood Ave to have a look at the ROW to see if we can see any of the kinks that can be seen standing in the ROW. Fresh paint has been added to the sidewalk crossing the tracks as well stop location for the streetcars. Crews were removing more temporary poles and doing wiring. 4 shelters are still missing glass. Dec 06-09: We take a bus ride eastbound from Gunns Rd to Old Weston Rd and have a look at the construction taking place for Phase IV. The eastbound tracks are almost in place under the bridge and should be finish by Dec 13. The curb lane is still to be done and that will take place after the track is in place. Dec 04-09: We take a walk eastbound in the eastbound tracks for St Clair ROW and have a look how the tracks are layout. We will see some manholes not centre between the rails or the 2 tracks. This causes tracks to have a kink in them to get around these out places man holes. we can see the twist and turns more so in the eastbound tracks than the westbound ones. Dec 03-09: As we head eastbound from Clarkson to Port Credit, we can see the new 3rd track #1 has been installed with work taking place to finish it. We can see the new 3rd track #1 in operation just west of Mississauga using the new bridges. Tracks went to service only 3 weeks ago. We can see all the switches have been removed east of the Port Credit River as well tracks been relocated. Work is staking place on rebuilding both west ends of the platforms to match the new location of the ...
Dec 03-09: As we arrived eastbound at Clarkson, we can see the new 3rd track been lay, work taking place on the platform, the new sound barrier walls. Since an westbound train arrived, had to stop shooting as it would be a waste of time trying to shoot rest of the station with it there.
Dec 03-09: Looking from the top level of an eastbound GO train, we can see the construction taking place for rebuilding the platform and shelters as well adding the new 3rd track. No new track until 2010. Wood platforms have been built over the new 3rd track and why was this not done when the new Oakville VIA station was been built and when the station was open this year.
