Fire in hand: I created the basic flame and smoke in the programme Particle Illusions, saved it, then dragged it onto my time line in After effects on top of my video footage. I then used the colour effect to change the hue and colour properties from bright red to a much more natural looking yellow colour. I also changed the size and density of the fire and smoke to make it look authentic. I also added audio in this for more effect.

Flashing red eyes: I imported a picture of a red eye and dragged it onto my timeline on top of the video footage. I duplicated the video and used the circle tool to cut around the eyes. and cut it into a mask of the eyes on the video. I then manually key framed the movement of the eye anf the other layer to make it appear as though the red in the eye was moving. I also added a lens flare and adjusted the colour to make the eye look more eerie.

Video wall: I first made the video wall in Photoshop by creating 16 equal boxes in 4 rows. These would be where the animated images would appear once I loaded it into After effects. Each box was in a separate layer. I then saved this and dragged it onto the timeline in After effects. I then added my 16 still images on top of each layer in turn. Text: I created this animation for a TV pilot I am making called The Institute. I made the text in Photoshop, putting each letter into a separate layer. Batman: Clouds- I created the cloud background in Photoshop and saved it. I imported it into After effects and dragged it to the timeline. I used position key frames to adjust the position of the cloud to the top and bottom of the frame in a second so it would give the appearance of the clouds rolling. Spaceship: Imported the images of spaceship and earth. Dragged earth onto timeline and changed the scale to 150% at the start to 35% at 1 second. I used easy ease from the key frame assistant to add the Bezier curve so that I could adjust the velocity of the earths movement. Bee: I imported the images of the flower and bee, dragged them onto the timeline, ensuring that the bee was above the flower so that it would be visible. Hexagon: I imported the image of Hexagon 1 and changed the scale to 60%. Then I duplicated it nine time and changed the rotation of the first hexagon. On 0.15 frames I hit P to bring up the key frames so that I could re-position the hexagons in turn so that they would start off screen and then appear in the honey comb shape.

I got two images of playing cards, added them onto the timeline and selected the 3D. I adjusted them on the Y axis and key framed the opacity on the timeline so that when one was visable the second wasn't and vice versa. I then changed the background colour to red.
