In part one of this 1986 highlight show hosted by Fire Inspector Melvin Stone we see some large fires in 1986, attend a hazardous materials class graduation, and we watch a hazmat demo and an EMS demo on Franklin Street in downtown. This video ends with an interview with new mayor Sandy Freedman.

On 12/6 at 0626 hrs TFR units responded to a truck on fire outside of Hoops Auto Service, 6306 N Nebraska Avenue. On scene fire crews reported a panel truck on fire and the flames were spreading to a parade float parked nearby and the flames were also threatening to spread to the business. The truck was full of tires and had piles of tires surrounding it. Fire crews moved quickly to knock down the fire and protect the surrounding properties. On 12/5 about 0930 hrs TFR units responded to a fuel tanker truck that had slid into a drainage ditch in the Port of Tampa at Dawney and Bulk Streets. On scene responders discovered the tanker was sitting partially in the ditch, the only thing stopping the tanker from rolling on its side were the compartments underneath the truck were wedge into the ground.
