Rotary Ghana Project Cookevlle Breakfast Club Water Well

Rotarians from Tennessee's Upper Cumberland were in Ghana (Oct 22-Nov 2) for international service work. Among the projects was testing of water wells installed as a multi-club, Rotary International program. Patrick Ryan, Art Gernt and Lawrence Oduro stopped in Huni Valley to check the well funded by Rotarians from the Cookeville Breakfast Club in Tennessee.

Village of Hope Fetteh, Ghana Oct 24, 2009 Fred Asare

Tennessee Rotarians from Crossville and Cookeville Breakfast Clubs were in Ghana for international service projects. They stopped at the Village of Hope orphanage and school in Fetteh on their first night in Ghana and talked with Director Fred Asare about his work there and their needs, such as a visit from a dentist to help provide care to the thousands of people in the district who have no dental clinic. He has the equipment and just needs some visiting volunteers.

Linary House Dedication Oct 24, 2009 Village of Hope Fetteh,

On October 24, 2009 the Village of Hope dedicated a new orphanage building as the Linary Church of Christ House in recognition of the contributions of the Linary delegation in Crossville, Tennessee. Scot Shanks and Julie Shanks of Crossville were guests of honor at the ceremony and cut the ribbon opening Linary House at the Village of Hope.

Rotarians from the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee were in Ghana (Oct 22-Nov 2, 2009) for international service work, including clean water projects. While in Ghana they traveled to Sunyani for meetings with local Rotarians and others connected with the water well projects. Here Scot Shanks talks with Dr. David Donker of Ghana who was instrumental in getting the water well project going.

Rotary Ghana Project Julie Shanks and Gideon Mocklay

A Rotary team visited Ghana (Oct 22-Nov 2, 2009) for international service project work, including sponsoring a visiting health clinic. Julie Shanks of Crossville, Tennessee worked to get Gideon Mocklay to the health fair to be checked for a chronic skin condition that was observed during visits to his village to check on water wells that had been constructed through Rotary service work. As a result of the Rotary health fair Gideon will be treated for his condition.
