Saint Lucia to lose Norwegian
The Tourism Minister says Saint Lucia may lose Norwegian cruise lines following recent robberies of the cruise ships passengers. The news comes on the heels of a string of attacks on visitors in recent months several of them against cruise ship passengers sightseeing in Castries. Forensic Lab Opens
After several years in the making, the Forensic Laboratory was finally declared opened, Monday. Authorities expect the lab located at Tapion to greatly enhance the investigation of crimes and reduce the back log unresolved cases in the criminal justice system. However the government plans to use the facility in the areas of scientific research and other social applications.
VAT Consultation
The VAT office says there is still a lot of work to be done in order to ready the country for the implementation of the new tax system. On Friday the VAT office rounded up its national consultations with a lecture specifically targeted at media personnel. The VAT consultation was aimed at providing information to help media workers better understand the logistics of the VAT system.
