Tiger - Guilty - Original '71 (Reggae)

Tiger - Guilty - Original '71 (Reggae)

Just slowly getting around to re-uploading all my previous uploads where I had sound volume issues. This track was a hit in the early 70s, and was produced by Laurel Aitken. A bit scratchy scratchy I know. You can find this track today on one of Trojan's skinhead reggae compilation sets.

Errol Dunkley - Betcha By Golly Wow (Extended Version + Dub '81)

Errol Dunkley - Betcha By Golly Wow (Extended Version + Dub '81)

Re-uploaded for kingkhan - as the previous one the volume was too low. A great lovers-rock version from Errol Dunkley of the Stylistics' classic tune 'Betcha By Golly Wow'. I know it's been uploaded a few times already, but only the short version, this is the extended 12" version with dub. Originally released in 1981 on the Music Hawk International record label - it remains a firm revival favourite...

Jean Adebambo - Paradise (album version '83)

Jean Adebambo - Paradise (album version '83)

The late and great Ms Adebambo sings a beautiful and soulful version of her 1981 classic "Paradise" - which was originally released on the Santic label - the version most are familiar with. This version was released on her album "Feelings" in 1983. Not only was Ms Adebambo a great singer and songwriter, she was also an accomplished musician - playing the piano & guitar on all of her productions. RIP

The Termites - Mercy Mr. Percy (original '67)

The Termites - Mercy Mr. Percy (original '67)

Probably the Termites' most successful and memorable hit 'Have Mercy Mr. Percy'. Released in 1967 on Studio 1 label. The duo-group was made up of Lloyd Parks & Wentworth Velnar - and was short lived, with Lloyd Parks leaving to pursue what became a successful a solo career, and Velnar leaving the music business.

John Holt - Never Let Me Go - Original '73

John Holt - Never Let Me Go - Original '73

Uploaded for Ms Dee :-) .... A favourite tune taken from Mr John Holt's album "The Further You Look", released in 1973 by Trojan. The album also features "Memories by the Score" - and its title track which has been uploaded by Ms Browning. Trojan has re-released this album together with Holt's Dusty Roads album - so a nice double bonus for fans.

The Soul Brothers - Hot & Cold - Original '67

The Soul Brothers - Hot & Cold - Original '67

The Soul Brothers, also known as the Soul Vendors, were Studio One's residential backing band - led by Jackie Mittoo & Roland Alphonso. Besides backing many great artists, they also released their own tracks (under both group names). Through-out the 60s, the band featured great musicians like Bobby Ellis. Released in 1967 on Studio One label.

The Charmers - Rasta Never Fails (Original '71)

The Charmers - Rasta Never Fails (Original '71)

A nice little tune by the Charmers - which most know as Lloyd Charmers when he was part of the duo group with Roy "Teddy Charmers" Willis in the 60s. After leaving the Charmers, Lloyd went on to have a really successful career - solidifying his status in what has now been dubbed the 'Skin-head ska era' - he was also mostly known for producing some very naughty tunes... You can find another version of this track that Charmers did with Ken Boothe on the Trojan album "Tighten Up" vol. 2....

Johnny Clarke - Again (Extended Version '79)

Johnny Clarke - Again (Extended Version '79)

Johnny Clarke gives a nice version of a tune most associated with John Holt. Taken from his album "Showcase", which was produced by Bunny Lee in 1979. The album also features another great tune "You Caught Me", which I was going to upload but it has already been uploaded but this one is just as nice....

Sandra Cross - Country Living - album version

Sandra Cross - Country Living - album version

A great cover tune from Sandra Cross of the Stylistics' classic "Country Living".... originally released in 1985, but taken from her debut solo album "Country Life" ('86). Uploaded a few times already but not the version from the album. With such miserable weather now - this tune sure does make me wish I was on a plane to St. Kitts/Nevis .... :-)
