The following is a photo montage of photos of Geibikei, a river gorge in southern Iwate Prefecture in northern Japan where you can take a flatbottom boat out on the river piloted by a singing boatsmen. . I was back up in Morioka again for yet another festival, this time for the 300 year old Hachimangu Matsuri. The Hachimangu Matsuri is a 3-day festival with floats, music, dances, and yabusame (mounted archery). The floats take 6 months to decorate and 200 people are attached to each one. The floats depicted characters from Japanese and Chinese history/legend and Kabuki characters.
