Rep. Lavelle sponsored House Bill 264 that adds a surcharge of 50% to all Title 21 offenses. The value of the surcharge will be transferred to the Transportation Trust Fund, with a limit being transferred the first year to make sure the General Fund and the local governments are not inversely impacted. The last comprehensive increase in traffic fines was in 1991. Passed the House on 6/27/07
