Once again, excuse how tired I look, but it's after 1am and we had just finished the last hand feeding of the baby lovebirds... when.... Pippin, the oldest of the three babies took his first flight. I had read that the babies should be trying to fly at this point, but had NO idea they could fly that far! This is more video of hand feeding the baby lovebirds (about 5 weeks old) on day 37. They now happily step up onto my hand to be fed and are eating a LOT of formula, but less often.

This is the new cage I set up for the baby lovebirds on day 37 (5 weeks old). Their nest box is still in the cage as they still stay in there a lot and sleep there as well. They are checking out all the new toys and also learning to perch a little. Growth progress continues!

This is video of the babies crying for food as I am making it. They recognize me as their surrogate "Momma" and will start crying like this the minute they see me!

This is day 37 for the baby lovebirds and we are doing the last feeding of the night at 11:30pm. All three babies are doing really well, are learning to perch, step up onto our hands and are also eating some "big bird food" consisting of fresh vegetables and Avicakes. The growth progress continues!

This is the youngest of the 3 baby lovebirds I'm raising, Pixie (aka Chicken Little). He's cuddling with his "Grandma", my mother, while chirping away. It's day 34 at 12am and the growth progress continues!

This is the youngest of the 3 baby lovebirds on day 34. He's no Chicken, very unlike his nick-name as he prevents the other two lovebirds from stepping up onto my hand. We are starting to see the unique personalities developing in each of the baby birds and Chicken Little seems to be the alpha-bird!

I'm holding baby lovebirds Pippin and Piper on day 34. They are very bonded to each other and groom and kiss all the time. Now that they have almost all their feathers, it's hard to tell them apart!

This is the youngest baby lovebird, Pixie (aka Chicken Little) being held by my Father. When he pets him, he makes the cutest little chirping noises. He really looks and sounds like a baby chicken! He is a few days younger than his siblings who hatched 32 days ago. I actually have video posted of this lovebird as he's hatching. They have all grown SO fast and it's hard to believe they were barely the size of a nickle a month ago!
