composer - Cornelius Cardew work - Piano Sonata no.3 (1958) - 1st movement pianist - David Tudor *18 pages of amazing stuff in my opinion. The 2nd movement starts with a sustained 'd' note, and then a long rest is heard. I urge everyone to ignore this immediately-perceived frugal structure of the 2nd movement and wait until it just erupts and goes wild. I strongly urge pianists to play his 3 sonatas. They need to be heard more!
