Beechcraft 18 Barrel Roll
This plane, built in the 30s as a light transport/cargo plane, was never intended for these manuevers. While it doesn't look like much compared to todays standards and after the Top Gun culture of movies took hold, but this sort of thing puts high stresses on an airframe which is 70 years old.
C17 Globemaster banking pass
The C17 makes a photo op pass in high angle bank. Super crazy stuff. This thing was banking and pitching like a fighter, came to a complete stop like it was on an aircraft carrier, and even backed up on the runway with thrust reverse! In the foreground is a P-47D Thunderbolt from WWII. They had trouble getting her started. I was surprised that the current US Air Force apus connected right up to give her a jump start.
Mig 17 Afterburner takeoff
The Mig 17 flown by Randy Ball of Texas makes a full afterburner takeoff at Sheppard AFB. Note how low he is when he banks hard right to climb.
