Monctonians woke up to a heavy blanket of wet snow this morning, snowed lightly in the morning and the sun came out in the afternoon. The power is out in a few places from the trees laying on the lines keeping NB Power busy. First snow of the year not bad December 6th & MORE snow coming later in the week!!!

The snow storm that dropped into Moncton early this morning made for slippery driving, this car went off of Highway 2 at Magnetic Hill Exit shortly before 2pm and hit and broke the light off the post. Codiac RCMP were on scene waiting for tow truck to arrive. Dept of highway were on scene also to take photos of the accident. Moncton firefighters respond to a home on Alice Ave in the West end of Moncton around 9:05am. The Chimney had a fire burning down inside and Firefighters dropped balls to free up the fire in the elbow of chimney. Firefighters were at this residence for about a hour. 3 trucks responded.

Around 5:45pm a Codiac RCMP officer discovered this accident on Mountain Road at Watson ave. Moncton Fire Dept & Paramedics took care of one person injured in the Auto. The SUV had side damage and tire was flat. Road conditions were dry at time of the accident. Traffic was tied up for about 20 minutes on a very busy Mountain Road. Just one vehicle caused the accident leaving the road and hitting vehicles that were parked in a parking lot of a business on route 106. Codiac RCMP had to block off Caledonia Road which is one of the main entrances into the Caledonia Industrial Park due to a power pole broken and wires all over the road just before 9am this morning.
