I'd been looking at it all my life: A coast guard buoy, 350 - 400 meters off the coast of Maine in front of the cottage. On August 15th, 2009, I had come of age. The conditions were perfect: it was that one fabled week of Dog-Day-of-Summer heat in Maine. The air temperature was 90F; the surface water in Casco Bay was rumoured to have been 65F. Dont try this at home without a wetsuit.

I was working with a great cast of players, Ross Martin on electric guitar, Christian Teele on drums and Ron Bland on bass, and Producer Lance Bendiksen sent me back to the drawing board to write and rewrite and rewrite some more.
