Here's a couple of trains I caught today. First one is the local doing some switching, Local 86, UP 2557 GP38-2L, UP 2569 GP38-2L. Filmed looking out my back porch. Later, while in line at the store, I saw an eastbound coal cruising thru town. I hurried to a location east of town,and got it there. This one came upon me rather fast, I had to chase after it several miles,till I came to a crossing where I could setup. I was just able to get my camera ready, when it was right on my heels, this train was easily in run 8. Eastbound coal, UP 7373 C45ACCTE UP 5758 C44ACCTE UP 5979 C44ACCTE. This one caught me off guard, I went down a gravel road to turn around after seeing the CSX train, and I looked up and saw this one cruising along. So I drove east as fast as I could, but got to the crossing right as it did, so the front of the lead unit got cut off (sorry bout that) Eastbound coal, UP 6444 C44AC, UP 6488 C44AC, UP 7350 C44/60AC DPU. My first train of 2010 was a good one. I heard a train call on the BNSF channel, saying it was approaching town @ 35 mph. So I headed to the crossing about a mile east of my place ,and managed to catch it. I was surprised to see it was a loaded CSX hopper train, led by a pair of CSX units. I was getting ready to make a run to the laundry, when I looked to the south,and saw this train cruising by. So I jumped in the car, and hurried east to catch it. I wanted to get on the east side of the tracks to catch it,but the gates went down,and caught me on the west side. I heard some some scanner talk going on, I looked out my front door and saw another UP westbound grain empty cruising along on the BNSF, enroute to home rails at the west edge of town (where I shot a previous westbound today) So I highballed to another spot in the country,and managed to catch it as it was pulling onto home UP trackage .
