The New York Yankees who just beat the Los Angeles Angels to advance to the World Series has just announced Jay-Z and Alicia Keys will kick off game one with a live performance of their hit Empire State of Mind. The song has been played repeatedly throughout their playoff run at Yankee Stadium. In an interview Jay-Z said he was excited about the performance and called it a once in a lifetime opportunity.

In a surprise move, Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to an attempted gun possession charge. The charge stems from an incident two years ago in New York City, when cops confiscated .40-caliber semi-automatic gun on his tour bus. He was facing a gun possession charge which carried a mandatory 3 ½ year prison term. By pleading guilty to the lesser charge of attempted passion he will only have to serve one year in prison. Sentencing is set for February.

A 6-year-old boy accidentally floated away today in northeastern Colorado in a balloon made by the boy and his Dad. As you can see in this picture the balloon is saucer-shaped and it is covered with foil similar to a party balloon. The cast of the hit Fox show Glee has been dumped from the annual Macys Thanksgiving Day Parade. Apparently Macys invited the Glee cast but when rival network NBC, who is broadcasting the parade, found out they immediately contacted Macys and banned Glee from the parade.
