Yay, a Duke Nukem video! More than a year since last one. Anyway, just trying out the Polymer render with Mapster on my own map. Takes a while to get used to but you can make some really cool map effects with it. If you're wondering why I'm not using the High Resolution Pack - well, I prefer the 8-bit look over the 3D models and personally I think Polymer with all the dynamic lighting looks best with its pixelated look and 2D sprites. 849 escapes from the planet Na Pali by jumping into the human vessel and blasting off into space. However, the UMS Bodega Bay engages him when he tries to escape; they order him to stop; 849 refuses to acknowledge; Bodega Bay fires a single missile towards the shuttle but 849 dodges it just in time and fires off a missile on its own hitting the Bodega Bay, which isn't as lucky, resulting in a large explosion on the hull. Prisoner 849 sets off in his shuttle leaving Na Pali, free at last. If ...

Stepping into the large teleporter 849 quickly realizes that he has finally made it to his ultimate goal - he's at the fortress now and the shuttle is just ahead! Well, that's it. Final level done and the game completed! Check the cutscene ending to see what happens to our hero.

No choice but to jump down the narrow hole in the ground 849 finds himself inside a cave with no sign of the fortress or the shuttle. Was it all in vain? You can get some serious speed on this level by holding down the walk key and running forward. For various reasons including rare cases of motion sickness and looking absolutely stupid while doing so I didn't include it in the video. If you still want to see it and bother me enough about it I'll probably do a video showcasing it....

After a fierce battle against the huge Skaarj boss 849 has landed high up north in the mountains! Wow, talk about a sudden change of environment. Personally I like the change, and as well as being a big fan of snow maps in general, but I never really understood how the hell it's possible going through a mining facility and ending up in the snowy mountains of Na Pali. 849 is proceeding even deeper into the Skaarj tarydium mining facility, and by doing so the number of Skaarj's is increasing, not only in numbers but also in ranks. It's a large facility, it's going to be tough fighting off the countless numbers of Skaarj Warriors and Brutes but our hero remains positive about the whole situation. Finally making some progress 849 finds himself inside a large tarydium plant; and where there's tarydium there's a lot of Skaarj's. Prepare yourself! This level and the following one is one of my favorites in the game; it's large, it's fun to play and lots of baddies to kill. Needless to say the 'Rrajigar Mines' and 'Depths of Rrajigar' were two excellent levels in the previous game so I guess I'm a sucker for maps that takes place in this type of environment.
