Beatles Let It Be lead guitar lesson

Beatles Let It Be lead guitar lesson

Another requested video; this time I show the lead guitar parts (solo and fills from the album version) on this song that gives title to the album Let It Be. First I play each section slowly, showing the corresponding tab, and then I play it at normal speed. Notice that the tab doesn't show correctly the pre-bends and bend-and-releases, but they should be clear from the video. See also my cover of the complete song with all the chords used. -by daniel

Upon another request, here's a tut video for Paul's bass lines on this song, which was written by John and released first as a single (B-side to "I want to hold your hand"), and now found on the album Past Masters. I include the tab and play along the song. Check out also my "virtual Beatles" cover of the song, with a lesson on the guitar chords. -by daniel

John Lennon Woman bass lesson & cover

John Lennon Woman bass lesson & cover

I was requested to do a bass lesson on this song from John's album Double Fantasy, so I used the bass recording from my "virtual band" cover that I did not long ago (check it out as well :D), now in larger image so it's more clearly visible, and put the tab with all the notes on it. Notice that by the end there are some hammer-ons that I didn't write on the tab and go on the 2nd beat of each of the 3 first measures of that part, that is: G-------0h1-4----------------1-----------------11 ...

The Beatles She's A Woman lesson & cover

The Beatles She's A Woman lesson & cover

This song was written by Paul and released as a single in 1964; now it's on the album Past Masters, Vol. 1. I play here John's electric guitar part and the solo. The very characteristic sound is accomplished with fast downstrokes, quickly releasing the pressure on the strings, to get short notes (there's a video where John is seen using upstrokes, on an acoustic guitar, but they were lip-synching, so I take it as him just messing around, since on the live performances that I've seen he used ...

virtual Beatles I'll Be Back cover by gtrdoc911 & DaBeatleMen1

This song, which closes the album A Hard Day's Night, was written by John; the song is apparently simple, but a closer look reveals several unusual details; to mention two (I won't go deeper here): it has an unusual verse/bridge structure, and the key changes several times, oscillating between A and A minor, starting as early as at the intro. This cover (audio in stereo) is a collaboration I did with my friend gtrdoc911, who sings the high and low voice tracks and plays the rythm acoustic ...

John Lennon Woman lesson & cover virtual band

This song is from John's last album, Double Fantasy, released only 3 weeks before his death. It's a favourite of mine, and in my opinion, one of the most beautiful songs ever written; John said it was a grown up version of Girl, his Beatles' song. I'm playing here, in stereo (better heard with headphones) two guitar parts (lead on the left channel and rythm on the right) and the bass lines (centre). Both guitars play the same chords, mostly on different positions. The song is a bit tricky in ...

virtual Beatles

This song, written mostly by John (it was one of his favourites) and sung by him with Paul and George, gives name to the Beatles' second film, their first in colour, after A Hard Day's Night, and to the soundtrack album for the film. I'm playing here Paul's cool bass lines and a mix of John's and George's parts, on electric guitar. I play the D in the verses like George did (see their videos playing this song), like a Bm7, striking only the 4 higher strings; John played it like a regular ...

Beatles Octopus's Garden detailed lesson (picking in verses)

In this short clip I show, in close-up detail, slowly, and with tabs, how to play the chords during the verses of this happy song, written and sung by Ringo. As I state in the video, this is one way to do the finger-picking on this song, but which finger strikes which note is up to personal preference; in any case, begin slowly and then gradually increase speed. See also my other video with a cover of the full song and the rest of the chords (I use a little chorus in my cover to approximate ...

The Beatles A Hard Day's Night lesson & cover

"A Hard Day's Night" is also the title of the first film The Beatles made and its soundtrack album; John wrote the song expressly for the film, when they needed a title for it. I play John's rythm part plus the solo and ending riff by George. There's been much debate in many places about the misterious opening chord, but George Harrison said the guitars play an Fadd9 (xx3213), which can be confirmed by two facts: it comes back in the ending riff (F and Fadd9 in arpeggios), and John can be ...

John Lennon Happy Xmas (War is Over) - virtual band cover

For this song (which was originally not a Christmas song, but a protest song about the Vietnam war), I worked in collaboration with gtrdoc911, who plays here the rythm guitar and did a great job on the difficult lead vocals, while I play the bass, second guitar and also programmed the drums and other backing. The recording is in stereo, so use headphones for a better experience :) This song is credited to John and Yoko, performed by the Ono Plastic Band (vocals by John Lennon, Yoko Ono and ...
