The combined running time is 4'33". (Add 15 seconds if you were to change the wind in this segment... 4'48") It turns out this is the optimal way to sail. The save-warping saves ~4 seconds this way (3 with .5s penalty), compared to the optimal straight-line one-segment path. Nifty and frustrating at the same time.
Here's the fast sidle in action. I lose ~2 seconds to sidling error / controller not responding to the direction I push on the second ledge, and ~1 second to luck in the hanging boat room where the moblin sniffs 3 times (optimal is a rare 2). I guess I should have rolled to the final door too, and sometimes the swordfight ends with you standing closer to it. 7'58" is about the absolute limit, 8'00" would be superb.
