Aialik Glacier Calving
One of the 'calving' videos from our Aug 25, 2009 trip to Alaska. This one is in the Kenai Fjords Nat'l Forest. It was pretty cool. This glacier is about 600-1000' Tall at times so this was up to 50 stories high...ice falling off from that height. It made waves up to 10' or more. We were appx 1/8 mile away from the base. We had to turn the 40' boat into the waves to prevent capsizing. Amazing stuff!
