The Climate Refugee Camp started with a Flash Mob march through the streets of Copenhagen and culminated with speeches and a photo exhibition featuring the voices and faces of those affected by climate change.

On December 12th, a group of 100000 people marched through the streets of Copenhagen to speak out for climate justice. While many understood the complexities of climate change, and that the COP15 delegates would have to deal with these difficulties, everyone felt compelled to have their voices heard.

COP15 - MELTING ICE BEAR PROJECT

The Ice Bear Project was created by British sculptor Mark Coreth to give artistic form to the climate change affecting the polar ice caps. The life-sized Ice Bear is located in a public square in Copenhagen during the COP15 Climate Change Conference. Passersby from all over the world are encouraged to touch the sculpture... to feel the arctic ice and to contribute to the symbolic melting of the ice bear, which reveals the bronze skeleton hiding underneath.

Cyprus has been divided in two since 1974 between the Greek-speaking and Turkish-speaking cultures. In July 2009, 20 Cypriot teenagers from both sides of the divide came to the US as part of the Cyprus Friendship Program. Through CFP they learned conflict resolution, teamwork and that they have much more in common than they realized.
