This is Jack, the African Grey Parrot at 3 years old. He's just hanging out in our living room entertaining himself with sounds and words. If you are considering getting a parrot please remember that it is a lifetime commitment and that you will not be able to make a parrot be quiet. The most you can do is redirect with a quiet game like peek a boo. They also will not control their language around children etc... so you have to always make sure to say things you don't mind being repeated ...

Festive celebrations in Durbs.........wmv
It is that time of the year again! This household do not have children......or for that matter grandchildren...........so the adults had a blast! As usual been doting on our African grey, Barney.....and our 2 budgies, Cheeky bek and Blue Peter. African Grey Parrot, Zephyr, getting scritches
Me petting our African Grey parrot, Zephyr. Halfway through the video he gets frightened by someone coming in the front door and freezes for a long time. He has some pin feathers on the back of his neck I have to be gentle with. Towards the end of the video, my dad walks over and stands near us and Zephyr gets kinda nervous. =]
