Horseback Archery or Yabusame by Empty Mind Films

This is Japanese archery on horseback known as Yabusame (流鏑馬). This was filmed in November 2009 at the Meiji Shrine, Japan. Yabusame was created as archery practice for the Samurai, to sharpen their skills during peace time. It is said by some historians that the warriors would also use dogs as target practice, called inuoumono and like Yabusame, the arrows were padded so few dogs were actually hurt. Yabusame Bogenschießen vom Pferd aus, Japan

Das ist einfach nur atemberaubend: die Pferde, die Kleidung und die Bewegungen der Reiter/Bogenschützen. Eine fließende Einheit. Eigentlich habe ich keine Worte dafür.
