Weyerbacher Fourteen isnt quite as challenging to drink as one might assume. While alcohol does play a significant role in the palate, the beer is still quite smooth. The mouthfeel is thick, heavy and almost chewy, but the spice doesnt tear up my tongue. There is a noticeable warming effect on the finish, but since this beer is 11.8% ABV thats to be expected. I didnt care much for the dry aftertaste, though. Its rather sharp and reminds me of the taste of a thermometer left sitting in a jar ...

This is my entry in Shane Spael's "Spam can challenge" on cigar box nation... I place the can in a cigar box and left a "tongue" of wood inside the can most of the way thru. the sound has to go thru the can and around the tongue making for a nice tone.
