
"My Funny Valentine" is a show tune from the 1937 Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart musical 'Babes in Arms.' After being recorded by Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra and Miles Davis, the song became a popular jazz standard. It appears on over 1300 albums performed by over 600 artists and this list continues to grow. Back then when I ran the record shop ~ Music City ~ my very very dear friend Louis Lynch came in one day and asked if I had this song I did on an album by Paul Desmond. When I heard it I immediately fell in love with it and love it to this day. We made a recording of it on a 45 I played tenor sax in those days.
