Here you are able to see the outside corner, which was shown in the crawl space to be allowing water to FLOW into the crawl space. My guess about the water in that area of the crawl space having something to do with the downspout/leader is confirmed. You will see water pooling in the area of the leader, and you will see water coming up through the top of the leader. Is it disconnected underground? Is it damaged? Was not not connected properly? Is it clogged? Who knows. I might emphasize here ...

Shows video of the crawl space. At the time of the original review of the home there was standing water in the crawl space. After the inspection a sump pump was installed, but the "problem" (ie, water getting into the crawl space, high concentrations of water in the crawl space, etc.) was not fixed. Installing a sump pump as a secondary measure to keep water out of the crawl space is fine, but it should not be *relied* on as the means by which to keep water out of the crawl space. This doesn ...
