The Tallulah Gorge in Rabun County, Georgia, is the deepest canyon east of the Mississippi. Each year hundreds of kayakers come to the gorge for one of its seasonal water release weekends. Georgia Power opens extra gates on its Lake Tallulah Falls dam, recreating the torrential waterflow for which the gorge was known before the completion of the dam in 1913. This past weekend we went to Tallulah Gorge in Rabun county Georgia. We walked the North and South Rim Trails. Then we went to Coleman River Trail. The Coleman River flows into the Tallulah River which flows through the gorge. The Coleman River Trail was really beautiful!! It was the first time we had been there and we were astonished at the clear crisp water flowing through the river!!
