JVC MG630 HDD vs. Panasonic GS85 DV
DONT get confused, HDD has NOTHING to do with HD. I hate that suppliers and manufacturers threw HDD and HD on the market without a clear difference between the 2 abbreviations, a lot of ppl get confused! HD-highdefinition: resolution of up to 1920x1080 pixels HDD-Hard Disc Drive: only 720x480 pixles Both utilize a harddisc to save the data on, tho...o.0 A case for the rofl copter. The result of this test: JVC MG630: 1pt video quality, in category use 3pts menu/controlls, screen, functions 2 pts. for the remote Total 6pts. Panasonic GS85: 3pts. zoom, focus, stabelizer, in category use 4pts. for Lens, zoom, macros, stabelizer 1pt. controlls -2pts the DV tape Total 6 pts. I did not take the HUGE difference in recording time into account, since it is not a fair compare anyway (HDD vs DV). The HDD can record up to 18hrs top quality Videos, including the 8GB mini-SD. The 2 female shrimp still carry eggs! I was amazed to see the one shrimp that had her first eggs 3 weeks ago mold and still carry half the eggs around. The same girl had eggs before and when she lost the exoskeleton, she lost ALL the eggs. But even NOW that she has her new exoskeleton she has still half the eggs, the other half hatched already and produced over 20 fry that I could count so far. There are more, but I just cant locate them all, since they swim free in the tank and the gravel. The other girl had her first eggs 2 weeks ago and I have not seen a developed fry on her yet. The captures I took, show them as close I can get with this camera, without distorting the picture. I use a Panasonic PV-GS85 with manual focus and I think it is one of the best cameras out there 32x optical zoom! It is not an HD but a small tape camera. So I always have to record the Vids on the computer and already there is my biggest loss in quality. I CANNOT record the Video higher than 720x480...

Cinematography DV Project # 3
This is my final project for Cinematography. The story is a bit nonsensical but I didn't really care. This project really dealt with camera angles, lighting, and sound mixing. I shot this at an Airport Hangar in Long Beach. Two cameras were used in the project. My Canon ZR100 and my friend's Panasonic PV-GS 85. All the shots were handheld with the exception of one. Used a lowell light kit although I had problems with one of the lights and also I didn't get any c-stands or flags which is why my subjects are too hot (overexposed). The Sound Mix was a bit tricky but it took me a couple of hours to get it right. It was edited on Final Cut Pro. If the compression looks bad, it's because I still have a bit of difficulty trying to find the right one. Enjoy my final project. I hope to make more during the summer.
