General Motors announced today it has hired an outsider to run its troubled finance operations. Chris Liddell, chief financial officer of Microsoft will be joining GM in the coming year. Microsoft announced last month that Liddell will be departing the software maker December 31. Food maker TreeHouse Foods said today that it will buy hot cereal and powdered soft drink mix maker Sturm Foods for $660 million as it looks to strengthen its presence in private label dry groceries.
