Change the Numbers: U.S. Population

In the 1970s, the United States' fertility rate was at replacement level, but beginning in the 1980s, federal law began to allow more than 1 million new immigrants to enter our nation every year. Add to that the nearly 700000 illegal aliens entering our country annually, and it adds up to a population that's growing at a rapid rate. According to figures from the US Census Bureau, our population could come close to 500 million by mid-century. ChangeTheNumbers.org
