The winter loop (Tinseltown) is starting to shape up. My first attempt at a mountain is completed. Still have another hill to complete under the water tower, lights to finish,, Chistmas Tree, trees, and park to add. Maybe by next Christmas.

The North Pole Loop is completed for now, with no planned upgrades for a few years. This is part 1 of the video. The train took 16.5 minutes to make the loop, and youtube restricts the movie to 10 minutes. The KLine Operating KandyKane Dump car was produced around 2003. The car has a small motor that moves the platform in a slow and realistic manner. It can be controlled with a standard uncoupling track, or anywhere on the layout with a separate purchase KLine remote control. The same remote control can address multiple KLine cars, but is not compatable with any other manufacture.

The Lionel rotating searchlight car was produced in 1952 and 1953. The searchlight sits on top little rubber fingers on top of a vibrating coil. As the searchlight vibrates, the fingers cause it to rotate in one direction. The car also has a shoe that can be activated by an uncoupler track. The shoe operates a cam that turns the search light on and off.

When I was a kid, the catalog for the Lionel 'Cop' and 'Hobo' car facinated me. Years later, when the car was re-issued as the Santa and Snowman car, I finally got one. The car has a structure on the top, that holds either Santa or the Snowman. The set includes a trestle and ramp mounted on the trestle. When the car passes under the ramp, the figure on the car goes up the ramp, and pushes the figure on the ramp to the top of the car. This movie shows the car in operation from different angles....
