Each year I take enthusiastic individuals into the countryside I love so much in an attempt to reach, what for some, is a Mt Everest like achievement. To reach Kala Phatar, or Gokyo Re, is a huge commitment both in time and patience. People come unprepared, over prepared, fixed and flexed minded, and still the mountains thwart their efforts. The Himalayas have a way of teaching us to be humble, to appreciate the moment and celebrate the beauty.
