On December 30th, 2005, The Juan Maclean played one of (the?) final great Motherfucker parties at Avalon in NYC. Knowing it was Jerry's birthday, Justine arranged to surprise him with a cake much to his chagrin. I fondly remember this show as one of our best, and perhaps my personal favorite with Phil and James joining us for "Give Me Every Little Thing" and Tim trading theremin solos with Eric B on "Tito's Way." The Wizard of Oz in 8 minutes
Ray and Mary Linn called themselves the "Abbreviated Theater Co" when performing this hillarious sketch initially written by Calvin MacLean (Ray and ML added some bits in rehearsals.) It's about 2 "ragtag" actors who have only 8 minutes to perform The Wizard of Oz. When this was performed in night clubs or at parties, Ray would also play the roadie by bringing in the trunk with all their props, setting up the boombox that had thier music. Mary Linn waited offstage as the prima donna waiting ...
