Here's where railfanning of Summer 2009 ended. The Metra LaVernge stop in Berwyn. Last year, my last railfanning day ended on the Chicago Subdivision as well. Railfanning BNSF's Chicago Subdivision At Night- LaVernge Station, Berwyn, IL. 6-14-09.
Berwyn is a suburb located about 10 minutes West of Chicago. From the three Metra stations in the city, the LaVernge stop is situated closest to BNSF's Clyde Yard. The CN/IC Freeport Subdivision crosses over the racetrack at the entrance to Clyde. Larry joined me tonight trackside and the night was kickass.
