while waiting for King Edward the 1st to pass through on the 'Bristolian Christmas special' i filmed some local train traffic . then King Edward the 1st came through with a lot of smoke and steam also, a load whistle - featuring class : exGWR 4-6-0 , 43 and 158. first great western and south west trains. 2-tone. please rate and comment. merry xmas to all viewers !!

On a cold December day GWR King Class 6024 King Edward I hauls 'The Christmas Bristolian' from Bristol to London Paddington and return. This was to be the first time in over two years for the King to go into and out of Paddington. The run ran over the Great Western Mainline which Kings ran 'The Bristolian' only on fridays with 8 coaches during the days of steam. Our first King Class!! 6024 King Edward I heads back home to Bristol, in the bitter night, as crowds flock to see the engine. First comes Didcot, where a two camera setup enables us to have a shot either side of the tracks. The ex-GWR engine heads for its water stop at Challow. It is a shame I didn't know this before, however, I was stood next to GreatWestern175.
