, the US Coast Guard flew about 300+ more birds to Sacramento. The birds were then transported to our Fairfield hospital. As of yesterday, the majority of the birds had been washed and transferred to pelagic pools outside, where they will finish their recovery and then be released. These pelicans were brought to International Bird Rescue Research Center earlier this summer for care. have already begun their Southward migrations, so he was driven to our Southern California sister center, near Los Angeles, where he would stay for a few days before being released.
