XML V.S. Log and Transfer Video Quality - Final Cut Express 4
In this tutorial, I show you the difference between exporting a XML from iMovie, and importing the footage straight into Final Cut Express 4. Both of these methods, work great, and produce superb video quality. No one produces a higher quality output as the other. It is just a matter of what you as a editor prefer to work with. Backyard time-lapse
of dusk over my front yard. Shot with a Canon EOS 500D (ISO 100, 27mm, f/11, 1/100 sec, 15.0 MP), 600 frames at 29.94 frames/ second. Exposures were taken at 1 frame per 6 seconds, over a period of 1 hour. RAW files were converted to .tiff format in Lightroom 3 beta, then stitched into movie in Final Cut Express. Final export is a 20 second video in H.264 format. I tried to compose the shot in a way that reduced most of the glare from the sun on my window, and I was mostly successful ...
