【中国禁闻】对比：中加新闻报导新法大不同
形成对比的是本周二，加拿大最高法院就安省渥太华公民报和多伦多星报对诽谤罚金的上诉请求做出裁决，修改了诽谤案的辩护条款，允许新闻记者使用负责任的消息进行辩护，并同意按照新的条款对两个案例进行重新审理。 其中一个案例是加拿大安省省警丹奴．卡森（Danno Cusson）控告渥太华公民报在2001年他参与911救助行动的报导不实。公民报当时引用纽约警察的错误资料把卡森说成是加拿大皇家骑警，把他自己的牧羊狗说成是警犬。 多伦多星报因为在2001年报导了商人彼得．葛兰特（Peter Grant）计划扩建高尔夫球场而被指涉嫌诽谤。当时星报
