2. Prelude in C sharp minor (Sergei Rachmaninoff)

This piece continues to be my nemesis, this is my second recording of it and again I am not entirely happy with it. Many people say it is an easy piece, I entirely disagree; its expansive rhythmic nature implores one to be dull. It is easy to play (with practice) and yet incredibly difficult to get right. I think I will have to record it yet again but for now I hope you enjoy this recording. Another host of technical difficulties rather hamper the experience. I exported in midi which has resulted in a strange pedal effect during the Agitato section, in which the sustain cuts out at odd moments, possibly ruining the flow but I'll let you decide. The tempo also seemed to change in some places so I tried to correct this with the result of making the Agitato come in too aggressively - though this is acceptable as long as one is watching the video. The sustain from the end of the agitato section also drags into the final section and I have really no idea why. The video is from Sergei...
