Lakland 55 02 on bartolini

Playing my Lakland Skyline 55-02 on bartolini pickups&preamp and ernie ball strings. This one is from 2004. Neck&fingerboard is maple. Body: Ash. Lakland sounds very modern and got punch at low mids. I've got a little problems with playing on it because it has got "fat" and wide neck and there is too much room between string and body and it's difficult to play any slap licks for me.
