Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program
Funded by the Government of Japan

Qualified citizens of developing member countries of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), who intend to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development related field are invited to apply for scholarships under the Asian Development Bank – Japan Scholarship Program. The program especially welcomes qualified women applicants who have limited financial means to obtain university education.

The Scholarship
Level of Education: Post graduate (Diploma, Masters, and Doctorate degrees)
Duration: from 1-2 years
Coverage: tuition fees, books, subsistence and housing allowance, insurance, economy airfare, and research subsidy

Comes prepainted, fully assembled with original tags attached.The NJG Program supports graduate study in Japan for non-Japanese women who are enrolled in graduate degree programs at Japanese universities.

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Applicants must be non-Japanese, non-permanent resident women who will be enrolled in a degree program with a graduate school of a Japanese university from April of 2009 to March of 2010.
  2. Applicants must be residing in Japan at the time of application for study purposes.All CWAJ scholarship applicants are required to be living in Japan at the time of their application. We regret, therefore, that we are unable to accept any applications from outside Japan.
  3. Applicants must have adequate ability in Japanese, as well as English.
  4. Holders of scholarships greater than ¥1.0 million from any other scholarship foundation or from company scholarship programs (kigyo ryugaku) are ineligible. Financial aid and awards from the university where the applicant will study will be taken under consideration for exception from this limitation.
  5. Former recipients of CWAJ awards and members of CWAJ are ineligible.

In addition to that sponsorship, which ensures the award of ten scholarships to successful applicants to this Program, the University of Tsukuba hold similar arrangements with the Inter-American Development Bank.

Applicants admitted to the Program in Economic and Public Policy Management are eligible for scholarships provided by the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) of the World Bank and the Japan-IDB Scholarship Program of the Inter-American Development Bank provided that they meet the specific requirements of each program as described below.

Fifteen scholarships are provided by the JJ/WBGSP for this purpose. To be eligible, a candidate must be a national of a World Bank member country that is currently eligible to borrow from the Bank. In addition, Executive Directors, their alternates, and staff of the World Bank Group,including consultants, as well as their close relatives, are excluded from consideration.
